Your first 30 days: what to expect

Everyone is different, but many people notice a similar shape in their first month. Knowing what might come helps you not be surprised by it.

Days 1โ€“7: The loud week

Urges can be frequent and strong, especially at your usual times. Restlessness, irritability or poor sleep are common. This is your old routine asking for its reward.

  • Use the panic button as often as you need.
  • Plan your riskiest hour with something else to do.
  • Fill in the daily report so you start seeing your patterns.

Days 8โ€“14: Small wins

Many people notice a little more energy and focus. Urges may come less often, but can still surprise you. Celebrate your first badges. They are real milestones.

Days 15โ€“21: The tricky middle

Motivation can dip once the excitement fades. Some people feel flat or low for a while. This is a normal part of adjusting, and it passes. Keep showing up for your daily routine even on boring days.

Days 22โ€“30: A new normal

Days without the habit start to feel normal. You have new tools, a growing tree and a month of evidence that you can change. Set your next goal before you reach 30, so you keep moving.

If you are struggling with your mental health, please reach out to a doctor, a counsellor or someone you trust. Asking for help is a strength.

Put it into practice

Recovery gives you a panic button, daily check-ins and a tree that grows with every clean day.
